There is a poem floating around out there that lists all the "last " times you do things as a parent. The last time you pick up your little person with their out stretched arms, the last time your baby falls asleep on your chest while you both take an afternoon nap or maybe the last time your teenager wants to give you a kiss in public. So many of these slip by without parents noticing they were the last time. We reminisce and talk about these and all wish we could turn back the clock.
I had a "last" time on Saturday and fully acknowledged and fully enjoyed it. Chris turned 12 Sunday. Last week while he was preparing to set up his Halloween strategy, he asked me if I was coming with him again. Of course I jumped on that, knowing that this was probably the last time my boy would want me to tag along.....turned out one of his buddies was not allowed to be without a parent. So Chris told him that I would go. He explained that I was a "warrior" Over the years, Chris and Shelby have been the first to go and the last to come home from Trick or Treating. So he knew that I would stay out as long as he wanted.
It was great watching Chris and his buddies run from house to house.....
A great "Last"
Thanks Chris
