The start of Wyoming....cool

I need to post a lot tonight due to the lack of wireless I suspect inside of Yellowstone.

On our way to Yellowstone we stopped at Devils Tower  This was really kind cool.
An interesting fact:
This was made underground by volcanic/magma movement.  It however was brought to it's present state due to erosion.  The ground around this monument was washed away over millions of years.

We saw prairie dogs at the park too.  Chris was not interested in anything that would make holes in your yard.  He said they must be related to Moles....he never took his eyes off his DS lite.

We then started the very long trip to Yellowstone.

We had to go over the Big Horn Mountain range...

we started at 3,500 elevation and drove up to 8,500 and back down to 3,500 all in a matter of 2 hours.  It was one of the most amazing roads.  It was so cool.  Unfortunately as we got to the peak...bad weather hit the range.  It started to Thunder and lightning....and I mean BIG lightning.  It then started to hail and rain...ad since the tops of the mountains were in the clouds...IT WAS DARK.  I was a little cautious and I needed aspirin for the cramps in my hands as I gripped the steering wheel in the 10 and 2 death grip.

We also spotted 4 moose...that lead to interesting questions we had on this funny looking creature:
Do people eat moose meat?
Do Moose loose their antlers every year?  The ones we saw had no or very small ones.
Do Moose run in packs?   the ones we saw were all alone....poor moose
BTW for all you Brian Regan fans...we saw moosen in the woodsen

I will write more on our Wyoming adventures.

Thanks for all the comments

yup - dem mooses are solo types, at least the ones I met in NH! Really big and I'd die for those gams.

Great chuckles here, thanks,

Glad you are having the time of your life,

Love,
Patty

Very nice pictures. They go along great with the blog. Posting video on the blog or at smugmug is very easy. On smugmug, use the uploader called "Ye Old Faithful"

Moose meat is alot like Bison or Elk - lean and a little gamier than regular beef.

Have you ever heard of the rockin-est website in Missouri called www.showmecables.com ?

Hey Foley Gang,

So you must be in Yellowstone by now. Haven't seen a posting in a few days. Think about it, no internet, maybe no phone either? I'm thinking communing with nature might be a great place to unwind!

Wishing you great sights and lots of fun.

love, Aunt Patty
