Another costal town, Syracusa did not dissapoint. Much bigger than Taormina and litlle dirtier. We stayed in Ortegia; which is the “Old town” of Syracusa. We have been exrememly lucky with the hotels we stayed in so far. If Denise only knew the “throw the dart” methodlolgy I used to pick these places…….
Again we stayed right in the heart of Ortegia….not that it’s all that big. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk from one side of town to the other. Although after our first experience you would of thought the town was a huge.
We find our hotel….and this is always like an easter egg hunt for us….Well wait, We found it after we had to drive down a pedestrian walkway to the hotel. It was in the directions so we did it….anyone rembering our earlier trip, when in Prague I thought it was odd there were no other cars on the road. Well I guess it’s allowed in Italy; nobody even flinched as I squeezed my car down the little street filled with people and vendors…..an no other cars. BTW at the top of the street it has a big sign….no cars.
Anyway , back to that experience. We got to our hotel just in time to meet a tour guide that would take us through Noto. That would of been great except Noto is 40 minutes away. Denise had really not read the details…...yes Denise. So we quickly find our way to Noto. It was worth the trip.
