Drive to Vegas through Death Valley

120 degrees at -235 elevation....that was what it was yesterday in Death Valley.  The drive for the most part is pretty easy.  We were warned by many that the drive into Death Valley is very hard.  It takes you from 4,000 down to 1,000...then back to 4,000 then to -232....the toughest part was the climb back to 4,000.  There were times the beast would not go past 15 mph.  We have seen and driven roads 10 times worse then Route 190 into the valley.

The weirdest thing about the "Furnace" is the wind.  You cannot have air conditioning on and so the windows are open.  The wind coming into my window was HOT.  It felt like someone had a space heater blowing on my face.  By the time we got to the bottom...Denise and the girls had had it.  They were all red faced and a few of them did not feel well.  I was fine and was in fact loving life....bring on the heat baby!.  We stopped for slush's and ice cream and then headed on over to Vegas.  We were suppose to stay at the Furnace Ranch....but the girls vetoed that idea and demanded we get out of the valley.

The drive to Vegas was uneventful....we got there!
