I guess the West Rim of the Grand Canyon is not too popular. There is only one way to get there and for 17 miles it is unpaved. Unpaved would be OK if it was smooth….
You know the feeling you get when you kinda cross over the bike lane on the highway…..it rumbles due to those cuts in the pavement. They put them there to wake you up!,…Well, think of it 50 times worse for 40 minutes straight.
It rattled the beast so bad that screws in the microwave came flying out. Thanks to Taylor, we saved the microwave from flying across the RV. The door knob on the bathroom?????unscrewed it self and came flying off. My butt felt like it was in a massage chair. It was crazy!.. Worse????of yes it got worse….we did not get out of the park until 7:41pm….I had to drive this ½ lane nightmare in the dark. It made for a long drive. It was a 3 hour detour out of our way….but it was well worth it. We didn’t end up getting to our site at the south rim until after midnight.
