Gluten Free on the road…getting cooler.

Most of you are aware that Chris and Denise are celiac and are intolerant to gluten. We have been dealing with this issue for over ten years and gluten free on the road is getting easier and easier. It was not too long ago, that we could go nowhere without Chris carrying his lunch pail with him.
When it comes to food we kinda spoil Chris. He had always been so good about not be able to join in at eating at restaurants or missing out on a treat. Whenever I find something gluten free, I normally get it for him. It’s usually very expensive…but he puts up with a ton…so we do it.

Well…..now there is more on the market and in fact many restaurants have gluten free menus. Outback, PF Changs and Capitol Grille are just a few….
In Vegas we decide to go out to lunch…Vegas has a Capitol Grille…Denise says let’s go.. I am all in (Vegas term) until I see that the average lunch is $20 a plate….

So I send Chris and Denise on a “date” to have lunch and I bring the girls to the food court. They had Chinese and I had Mexican….everybody was very happy.
So Denise tells me this story about their lunch….
Chris orders the Filet Migeon….$28….He notes that it’s the best steak he has ever had and that he wish he could combine Outback and Capitol Grille….the taste of Capitol Grille and the size of Outback….
Before I left the waiter must of overheard me tell Chris to take care of my girl…treat her right…..so at the end of the meal, the waiter asks Chris if he is responsible for the bill. Chris says “yes” and then turns to Denise and asks for the Visa. He thinks he so funny.
Between King Crab Jessica and Filet Migon Chris….they are going to break me. Thank GOD Shelby still eats off the kid’s menu!
